The Small Enterprises and Handicraft Development
Authority (SEHDA) provides support to
potential and existing small entrepreneurs with a
view to enable them start new enterprises or to
improve their existing businesses.
Core Objectives
- Promote and sustain development of small
enterprises;
- Act as a regulatory body for registration
of small enterprises;
- Enhance their productivity and competitiveness
through research, training and other
measures;
- Encourage clustering and linkages with other
enterprises;
- Promote the marketing and sale of products
and services of small enterprises;
- Provide an information and documentation service;
- Develop an entrepreneurial culture.

- Business Counselling and Facilitation
(provision of professional advice and support
to both potential and existing entrepreneurs).
- Skills Development (mainly courses in
Handicraft) conducted on a regional basis
by local specialists and foreign experts.
- Marketing advice and support (fairs, professional
advice/information).
- Entrepreneurship Development Programme.
- Provision of information to start-ups and existing
enterprises on design, raw materials,
technology and small business management.
- Sales Outlets for handicraft products.
- Documentation and Information services.
- Assistance on business planning for loans
with DBM/MPCB and other banks.
- Registration of SMEs.
- Freight-Rebate of 50% for enterprises
registered in Rodrigues.
- Business Incubators.
